Ants - How-to Control Argentine Ants
CONTROL. This is where your sleuth-work comes in handy. The location of the nest(s) and its direct treatment with a residual insecticide, such as Suspend SC is ideal; try following the ants back from their food source. Be sure to pull back the grass from around foundation walls and the edges of concrete sidewalks and driveways because these ants will trail below the grass-line where they are not visible. It is unrealistic and impractical to attempt to totally eliminate ants from an outdoor area. Focus your management efforts on excluding ants from buildings or valuable plants and eliminating their food and water sources.
Folr indoor control I have found that baiting is the best system to control this species. I liked using one of the baits in one of these kits (Pest King Three Way Ant Bait Kit ) as the premier and is highly recommended to determine which bait is the best at that particular time (since their dietary needs change with the colony's needs). The use of Borid (specially prepared boric acid dust) in the wall voids of the outside ground-floor walls is the preferred treatment. You can get to these voids by treating into the weep holes, or treating behind the electrical switch plate covers and into the void formed when the drywall is placed over the studs. Outside perimeter barrier treatments using a long-lasting material such as Demand CS, Suspend SC and Demand SC pyrethroids is essential and must be well maintained.

Baiting is good to utilize inside in a planned baiting attack, such as every 4 – 5 feet in infested rooms. Be sure to draw a diagram showing bait placements so you can go back in a couple of days to monitor and make certain that ample bait is available and is still being consumed. I like to recommend the Pest King Three Way Bait kit
When using the granular bait with the four way kit, sprinkle the bait along the outside of the structure from 3” to 16” wide to form a complete “barrier” of bait such that the ants will have to pass through you “mine-field” in order to get inside the structure.
