Beetles and weevils. Class Insecta, Order Coleoptera.
Front wings, are called elytra and are horny (hardened) or leathery, without veins, meeting in a straight line down the middle of the back. These (elytra) cover membranous (like cellophane) hind wings.
Mouthparts are for chewing and the metamorphosis is complete.
