How to control Cicada Killer Wasps

Cicada Killer Wasps

Cicada-Killer

CONTROL. These wasps are intimidating, yet they are classified as beneficial insects because they help to control the cicada populations. If these wasps must be controlled, then the best way to discourage burrowing on bare ground is to dust the area lightly. Control is achieved within 2-3 days. Ideally, the burrows should be located and treated to control the larvae, which are developing in the burrow. This will help to control next season’s population. I prefer to use a dust like Delta Dust and
Demand CS, which will resist moisture in and on areas like bare ground and have longest residual action.
