How to control Mud Daubers

How-to Control Mud Daubers

Mud daubers are beneficial insects and help control spiders. If the nest is located near human activity, control may be warranted. First, treat the female with an appropriately labeled pesticide; aerosol pyrethroids (Microcare) or (PT 565 PLUS XLO) work well. Then remove the nest with a putty knife or some type of scraper that will not cause damage to the surface. Activity can be discouraged in a given area by the application of a microencapsulated or wettable powder pyrethroid formulation.  The control may last for up to 30 days.

  • PT 565 Plus XLO
  • Microcare
