How-to Control Powderpost Termites

How-to Control Powderpost Termites

Due to infestation being direct and not via the ground, the most successful methods of control are fumigation. Local treatment or replacement of the infested wood is occasionally done when it can be determined that the infestation is localized to a single piece of furniture or in one location.

If the infestation is confined to a piece of furniture, picture frame, etc. which can easily be removed, then it may be treated via heat or cold if practical, or the infested item destroyed. Local treatments can be achieved with materials such as Timbor or Armor Guard at 15% strength.
