Why not to apply chemicals repeatedly?

Why not to make repeated applications of insecticide to slove a flea problem?

Fleas are as common as houseflies or mosquitos in season here in our Texas environment. They live on a wide variety of hosts and can develop large populations in a short period of time. By treating both the pet and the pet's environment, effective reduction of the flea population can occur in one to two months with patience.

Treating weekly or bi-weekly with chemicals is a sure ticket for producing resistant fleas, so follow label directions exactly and do not use more chemical than is directed with each application. Fleas are tough critters, but can be managed with patient and persistent attention to detail.
